What You Will Learn
Network Administrators, who are already familiar with network components, traffic, performance and utilization, network topology, location of each system, security policy, etc. can take up this certification to get the fundamental understanding of the true construct of data transfer, network technologies, and various software technologies.This will help them understand how networks operate, identify what software is automating and perform analysis of the available subject matter.
The certification also includes information about network defense fundamentals, application of network security controls, protocols, intricacies of network traffic signature, perimeter appliances, secure IDS, VPN and firewall configuration, analysis and vulnerability scanning. These topics are aimed at helping the Network Administrators design greater network security policies and successful incident response plans.
CND is a skills-based, lab-intensive network security program. It is based on a job-task analysis and cybersecurity education framework presented by the National Initiative of Cybersecurity Education (NICE).
